VSAT networks are used for a wide range of services, including telephony, high speed data, simple data, internet access, video conferencing and fax.
VSATs are generally small and portable and can be deployed quickly and easily without interrupting existing network service. The customer premise equipment (CPE) consists of an Outdoor Unit (ODU), an antenna and an Indoor Unit (IDU). The function of an ODU, also referred to as a transceiver, is to receive and transmit signals. The IDU is a satellite modem that connects to the equipment on-site. The IDU may be connected to a router that directs the traffic to the correct network address and also works in conjunction with Quality of Service software that prioritizes network traffic.

NSS-6 covers the whole of Asia with six high-performance Ku-band beams, which can deliver broadband media to small business, ISPs or domestic rooftop antennas in every market. The satellite delivers Direct-To-Home power and performance, as well as the best inter-regional connectivity in the satellite industry. High-gain uplink performance enables the use of small uplink antennas.

The Intelsat 901 was the first of 9 series satellite launched in June 2001 at 342 degree East.Intelsat 901 was an FS-1300HL; an improved version of the long-standing Space Systems/Loral (originally Aeronutronic Ford) FS-1300 platform the satellite was to provide voice and video services to Europe, America, Middle East and North Africa through 12 Ku-band transponders. With advanced features like selectable split uplink for SNG, the IS-901 is tailored for today's communications demands, such as DTH and Interne.
More Power :
The IS-901 is designed to provide an increase of up to 5dB for downlink e.i.r.p and up to 1.8dB for G/T over the IS-VII satellites.
Greater Capacity :
IS-901 will provide 71% more capacity over our previous satellite at 342 degree East.
Enhanced Coverage :
IS-901 provides significantly expanded zone coverage. The Ku-Band spot beams also include more area within each e.i.r.p level.

The Intelsat-10 02 is the largest and most powerful satellites ever procured by Intelsat, the international telecommunications satellite operator, to provide various communications services including fixed telephone and data services, broadcast and news gathering. The IS-10-12 is a premium landmass orbital role that will provide coverage for Europe, Africa and Middle East.
Intelsat 10-02, is located at 359 degrees East, Uniquely, the IS-10-12 satellite has 3 steerable Ku-Band spot beams, 2 of which are rotatable, allowing the coverage of any visible area from 359 degree East, while providing better coverage of the target geographic market. IS-10-02's 150W TWTAs ensure the highest power available in the market today. Equipped with Automatic Level Control (ALC) feature enabling the satellite to maintain constant satellite e.i.r.p even in case of uplink signal degradation.
